Breast milk is quite rightly dubbed “liquid gold.” It’s not just a brilliant blend of all the fats, sugars, proteins, minerals, and vitamins your little one needs—it’s so much more than that. It’s a truly ‘living’ fluid, packed full of living cells and bioactive substances that support your baby’s growth and development during the first six months of life. The World Health Organisation (WHO) can’t stress the importance enough and advises that babies have exclusively breast milk for those first six months of life. Following that, they recommend keeping up the breastfeeding until your baby is two years old, or even beyond, whilst steadily introducing a varied, family diet.
